I’ve always loved these big majestic structures that dot the prairies. At their peak in Saskatchewan there were 1800+ of them and today there are less than 275. Fewer and fewer, they have the ability to have you pull the car over and snap a photo. For this song I set the scene imagining one on its last day before demolition: “It used to mean from a distance you were heading somewhere when heading here…now more than the last grain elevator was disappearing”.
