RADIO FRANCE here we come!
March 30, 2004
April marks the recording of a Progeny Music song written for the France market. The song called ‘Not like that’ had portions of lyrics translated to French and is a guy/girl duet. In true Euro fashion the project also includes a dance mix. The recording session is being funded by French interest (!) with duet vocals being done by myself and local songstress Valerie Beaulieu. Instrumentalists include FEFE DOBSON’S drummer, guitar player from CORMAC, and bass player from KAZZER. PLUS the expertise of FatLabs productions in Mississauga (www.fatlabs.com link below) is managing the production. Thanks Vikas and Aris!

Canadian Music Week De-brief
March 10, 2004
Canadian Music Week has ended, sadly - but was an amazing experience. The final night ended for me at about 6am - as the rock n’ roll lifestyle had been kicked into high gear at the Westin hotel in Toronto, and I hear it went on well into the next day. Throughout the week many contacts were made with TV/Film music buyers, label folks, foreign publishers and loads of other musicians - ETC! Hats off to the organizers and volunteers! A highlight was hearing Cindi Lauper give a talk about her path to success in the business. God she was motivating. And she’s hilarious. Vikas & Raven - thanks for the good times!!!! Rock n’ Roll baby - rock n’ ROLL!
New member of S.A.S.S.
March 10, 2004
I recently got confirmation of an invitation to be a new mentor in the brand spankin’ new S.A.S.S. program in Southern Ontario. That’s the School Alliance of Student Songwriters. Spearheaded by former GUESS WHO guitarist, DALE RUSSELL and teacher/singer-songwriter ARTEMIS the project is off to a great start. I’ll be heading into several schools in the Durham region over the next few months as a mentor, performing for students and talking to them about the craft of writing. Great fun. Check out the SASS website for more details at: link.
