I make my reality TV debut this week on the show NORDIC LODGE (CityTV). In the episode I travel to the fishing lodge to shoot a music video. It’s the end of their season and they’re busy trying to close the place up and get out – I end up being just ‘a bit’ in the way…lol. Tune in WED MAR 30, 1030pm CITY-TV (Saskatchewan). I posted a commercial for the episode on my facebook music page – if you want to watch it, CLICK HERE.
Excited to share my new music video “I wanna go back there”. Thanks to exclaim.ca for debuting it across Canada on launch day & to CBC Saskatchewan for chatting with us on air to promote it! So proud of the results created with Wavelength Entertainment. Check out the scenes of the magical piano floating on beautiful Reindeer Lake in Northern Saskatchewan! I still can’t believe we captured that. And…I still can’t believe I learned to levitate. Take a peek, and please help out by sharing the video! let us know what you think by commenting on youtube. cheers – Jeffery
I’m excited to be launching my new music video on Mar 2nd (2016) partnering with exclaim.ca & the fine folks at CBC Saskatchewan’s Morning Edition! It’s for the song “I wanna go back there” from my 2015 album NORTH STAR FALLING, produced by Dean Drouillard. Filming the video was quite the feat. Magic & planning got a 100 year old upright piano to float on beautiful Reindeer Lake in northern Saskatchewan for some great scenes. Nature was very good to us that day! huge thanks to Wavelength Entertainment for the work on this – what a dream team. Stay tuned next Wed morning for the live link. can’t wait to share it!

Just a quick note to say a big ‘thank-you’ to everyone out there for what has been a great year of music making in 2015. The support of people coming to shows, finding my music on-line, buying a CD or even a song on iTunes – all of that has meant a lot to me. Another big thanks goes out to all the fine musicians I’ve been able to perform with – what a treat. Brodie Mohninger in particular has played SO many shows with me these past few years with his stellar guitar playing. I know many of you dig what he does. All the best to all of you for the upcoming 2016 – I hope it’s amazing for you. Let’s cross paths in the new year. js
The amazing podcast series out of Saskatchewan, called SASKSCAPES, has developed a great audience guided along by host-with-the-most Kevin Power. He interviewed me for episode 70 of his series. You can listen to our conversation by CLICKING HERE.
(from the host) “SaskScapes turns 70 and what better way to celebrate than with the man who has provided the theme music for the podcast since episode one. Saskatchewan born singer/songwriter Jeffery Straker has established himself as one of the most successful (and busiest) artists this province has produced, and has gone on to international acclaim. Kevin Power joins Jeffery in a conversation that is more fun than two people ought to have in a podcast! And, it’s another “6 degrees” moment as Jeffery reveals his musical lineage which connects him to Beethoven and Chopin”.
I’m looking forward to a BIG upcoming show on Nov 20 when I’ll once again get to play my music with an orchestra. This special show is with the Regina Symphony Chamber Players and takes place in the beautiful Casino Regina Show Lounge. The musicians of this chamber orchestra are incredible and playing with them is such a treat. 16 of my songs have been arranged for orchestra for this show including songs from my latest album and I can’t wait to share them. This room seats about 700 people and tickets have been moving really fast – it’s on track to sell out. So if you’re interested, be sure to grab a ticket soon. CLICK HERE TO GO TO TICKETING WEBSITE I look forward to seeing you there. AND, if you’re not in Saskatchewan but have a local orchestra you’re connected to in your city, do please tell them about this show. I’d love to perform it in other parts of the country too.
I’m delighted to be part of the line-up of amazing singers interpreting the songs of Simon & Garfunkel Nov 3-4-5 in Toronto. The shows take place at beautiful Koerner Hall on Bloor Street, at the Royal Conservatory of Music. “Uncovered” is produced by the Acting Up Stage company. They invited me for last year’s edition (the songs of Elton John and Billy Joel) and I’m excited to be back this year. Tickets are available at this LINK
